Grailed fees explained
Grailed takes its cut through two separate fee lines: a commission that steps from 6% to 9% at a $120 sale price, and a payment processing fee charged on the whole transaction. This glossary walks through every line in plain language — what it is, who pays it, the rate, and the base the rate is applied to — ending with a $100 sale worked end to end.
Grailed fee data checked against the Grailed Support fees article (updated ), the payment processing article (updated ) and the Grailed Terms. Figures are for US sellers paid through Stripe. United States, USD.
Feebrief is not affiliated with Grailed and does not currently offer a Grailed calculator. Rates, thresholds and minimums change; confirm on the linked Grailed pages before pricing.
Quick answer: the whole Grailed fee stack
Grailed charges sellers two separate fees and buyers nothing. The first is a commission: 9% of the sale price, or 6% with a $1.99 minimum for sales under $120, for sales completed on or after . The second is payment processing: 3.49% + $0.49 for a US seller onboarded with Stripe, charged on the total transaction including shipping and tax. Listing is free, and buyers pay no Grailed marketplace fee.
Sell a $100 item with a Grailed Label and you pay $6.00 commission plus $3.98 processing — $9.98 in all — keeping $90.02 before the label cost.
Feebrief does not currently offer a Grailed calculator. Every figure on this page is static math from Grailed’s published help and Terms pages, checked 2026-11-01.
Grailed’s fee lines, in plain language
Each block below covers one fee line the same way: what it is, who pays it, the rate, and — the part most explanations skip — the base the rate is applied to.
Seller commission — and the $120 cliff
Commission is Grailed’s cut of a completed sale, paid by the seller per the Grailed Terms. The standard rate is 9%. For sales on or after 2026-05-20, Grailed’s fees page (updated 2026-05-13) adds a reduced tier: sales priced under $120 pay 6% with a $1.99 minimum. The tier applies to the whole sale, not just the part above $120 — a $119.99 sale pays $7.20, a $120.00 sale pays $10.80 — so the cliff is worth watching when you price. This page keeps the tier story to those two sentences: the under-$120 tier in detail and the full Grailed seller fee schedule each get their own guide.
What the commission actually applies to (the Label base effect)
Commission is charged on a sale price that depends on how you ship. Ship with a Grailed Label and commission is charged on the listing price only. Arrange your own shipping and charge the buyer for it, and commission is charged on the listing price plus that shipping amount — and the combined figure also decides whether you land in the 6% or 9% tier. A $110 item with $15 buyer-charged shipping is a $125 sale without a Label (9%, $11.25) but a $110 sale with one (6%, $6.60). The label choice changes both the rate and the base.
Payment processing — the separate second fee
Processing is the cost of taking the buyer’s payment, charged to the seller on top of commission. A US seller onboarded with Stripe pays 3.49% + $0.49; the same seller not yet onboarded pays 3.49% + $0.99. And unlike commission, the base is fixed: processing applies to the total transaction amount, including shipping and tax when applicable. International variants appear once below for completeness — the deep dive lives in our Stripe processing fees explained guide.
| Situation | Processing rate |
|---|---|
| US domestic, Stripe-onboarded (used in examples) | 3.49% + $0.49 |
| US domestic, Stripe-eligible but not onboarded | 3.49% + $0.99 |
| International payment, Stripe-onboarded | 4.99% + $0.49 |
| International payment, not onboarded (Stripe country) | 5.49% + $0.99 |
| Seller not in a Stripe-eligible country | 4.99% + $0.49 |
Listing fee: $0
It is free to list on Grailed — no insertion fee, no renewal fee, no per-listing charge. Fees only touch a completed sale.
Buyer fees: none
Per Grailed’s fees page, buyers pay no Grailed marketplace fee. Buyers can still pay for shipping and sales tax where applicable, but neither is a Grailed fee line.

Worked example: a $100 sale vs a $150 sale
Assumptions: a US seller onboarded with Stripe, a domestic buyer, a Grailed Label so commission is charged on the listing price only, $0 sales tax, no offers or bundle discounts, no promotional rate, and net equal to the price minus commission and processing — the Grailed Label cost is a separate deduction not shown as a dollar figure. Amounts are rounded half-up; a live payout may differ by a cent. See how Feebrief estimates seller fees.
| Line | $100 sale (under $120) | $150 sale ($120 or more) |
|---|---|---|
| Commission base (listing price, Label used) | $100.00 | $150.00 |
| Commission (6% min $1.99 / 9%) | $6.00 | $13.50 |
| Processing base (total transaction, tax $0) | $100.00 | $150.00 |
| Processing (3.49% + $0.49) | $3.49 + $0.49 = $3.98 | $5.235 + $0.49 = $5.725, shown as $5.73 |
| Total fees before label | $9.98 | $19.23 |
| Seller net before label cost | $90.02 | $130.77 |
The $150 processing line lands on a half-cent ($5.725), rounded half-up to $5.73 here; Grailed’s own rounding may read $5.72 or $5.73 on a real payout. In percentage terms the $100 sale gives up 9.98% and the $150 sale about 12.8%, because the fixed $0.49 and the 9% tier both bite harder at the higher price. On very cheap sales the commission floor can exceed the percentage math: 6% of a $20 sale is $1.20, but the $1.99 minimum is what is charged. For pricing tactics around these lines see how to reduce Grailed fees, and for the reduced tier see the under-$120 tier in detail.
Common confusions
Isn’t Grailed just 9%?
Not anymore. Since 2026-05-20 the schedule is tiered: 6% (minimum $1.99) under $120, 9% at and above. Older forum answers — and one of Grailed’s own help pages for international sellers, which still read “9% across the board” at our 2026-11-01 check — are out of step with the dedicated fees page updated 2026-05-13, which is the schedule this guide follows.
Does Grailed charge buyers?
No. Grailed’s fees page says buyers pay no marketplace fee. Shipping and sales tax, where they apply, are separate charges, not Grailed fee lines.
Why did commission and processing come out of different amounts?
Because they use different bases. Commission follows the Label-dependent sale price — listing price with a Label, listing price plus buyer-charged shipping without one — while processing follows the total transaction including shipping and tax. That is the Label base effect described above; for a cross-marketplace look at the same idea see Grailed vs eBay fees.

Grailed fees FAQ
What fees does Grailed charge sellers?
Two lines, both paid by the seller: a commission of 9% of the sale price, or 6% with a $1.99 minimum when the sale price is under $120 for sales on or after 2026-05-20, plus payment processing of 3.49% + $0.49 on the total transaction for a US seller onboarded with Stripe. Listing is free and buyers pay no marketplace fee. On a $100 sale with a Grailed Label and no tax, that is $6.00 commission plus $3.98 processing, $9.98 total, leaving $90.02 before the label cost.
What is the Grailed $120 fee cliff?
The price line where commission steps from 6% to 9% for sales on or after 2026-05-20. Under $120 the commission is 6% with a $1.99 minimum; at $120 or more it is 9%. The rate applies to the whole sale, not just the part above $120, so a $119.99 sale pays $7.20 in commission while a $120.00 sale pays $10.80. The combined figure of listing price plus any buyer-charged shipping decides which side of the line a sale falls on.
Does Grailed charge a listing fee?
No. Listing on Grailed is free: there is no insertion fee, no renewal fee and no per-listing charge, per Grailed’s fees page. Fees are only taken when an item sells — commission and payment processing are both deducted at payout, and buyers pay no marketplace fee either.
Is processing separate from commission?
Yes. Payment processing is a second fee on top of commission, and it is charged on a different base. Commission follows the Label-dependent sale price: the listing price with a Grailed Label, or listing price plus buyer-charged shipping without one. Processing is charged on the total transaction amount, including shipping and tax when applicable, at 3.49% + $0.49 for a US seller onboarded with Stripe.
