Grailed Payment Processing Fee
Grailed charges sellers a payment processing fee on every sale, separate from its commission: from 3.49% + $0.49 for a US seller onboarded with Stripe up to 5.49% + $0.99 for an international seller who is not. This guide maps the full ladder, what the fee is charged on and what a $100 sale pays.
Grailed fee data checked and against the Grailed Support payment processing article (updated ), the Grailed Support fees article (updated ) and the Grailed Terms. United States, USD.

Short answer: yes — 3.49% + $0.49 to 5.49% + $0.99, and it is not the commission
Payment processing is the fee Grailed charges sellers for handling the buyer's payment, listed separately from the commission on every sale. The rate depends on two things: whether the transaction is domestic or international, and whether you are onboarded with Stripe. A US domestic seller onboarded with Stripe pays 3.49% + $0.49; an international seller in a Stripe country who is not onboarded pays 5.49% + $0.99.
The base is the total transaction — the amount the buyer pays, including shipping and tax if applicable — not the listing price alone. On a $100 sale with a Grailed Label and no tax, a US seller onboarded with Stripe pays $3.98 processing plus a separate $6.00 commission: two fees, two lines, never one combined percentage.
Scope: this is a single-fee deep dive on payment processing. For the full seller bill — commission tiers, the $120 line and label costs — see Grailed seller fees: the full stack.
The processing fee ladder
Five situations cover the whole schedule. In every row the seller pays, and every row is charged on the same base: the total transaction, including shipping and tax when applicable. The figures are as published by Grailed Support (article updated 2025-03-07); nothing in between is interpolated.
| Seller situation | Processing rate | What the row means |
|---|---|---|
| US domestic, onboarded with Stripe | 3.49% + $0.49 | The row most US sellers land on |
| US domestic, not onboarded | 3.49% + $0.99 | Same percentage; fixed portion is $0.50 higher |
| International, onboarded with Stripe | 4.99% + $0.49 | Percentage steps up; fixed fee stays at $0.49 |
| International, not onboarded (Stripe country) | 5.49% + $0.99 | Top rung of the ladder |
| Not in a Stripe-eligible country | 4.99% + $0.49 | Default rate per Grailed's help article |
Two things move you up the ladder: an international transaction raises the percentage, and not being onboarded with Stripe raises the fixed portion. The bottom row is the default for sellers outside the countries Stripe serves.
Who pays, and what the fee is charged on
The seller pays. Grailed's help article presents payment processing as a seller charge on the sale, distinct from the commission line, whether the transaction is domestic or international.
The base is the total transaction — item, shipping, and tax if applicable. There is no label fork here: the commission base changes depending on whether you ship with a Grailed Label, but shipping is in the processing base either way, and so is tax where it applies. That asymmetry is the most common source of confusion when a payout reads larger than expected.
On "onboarded" vs "not onboarded": the help article publishes each rate in two versions, for sellers onboarded with Stripe and those not onboarded, and says nothing about how onboarding works — so this page won't either. Confirm your own status with Grailed. Arithmetically, the only difference between the paired rows is $0.50 of fixed fee.
US domestic: 3.49%, with the fixed fee set by onboarding
For US domestic transactions the percentage never moves: 3.49% in both rows. What changes is the fixed portion — $0.49 onboarded with Stripe, $0.99 not onboarded.
On a $100 transaction that is $3.98 onboarded (3.49% × $100.00 + $0.49) versus $4.48 not onboarded. The gap is a flat $0.50 and does not scale: at $500 the two rows compute to $17.94 and $18.44, still fifty cents apart.
Note what does not move the rate: the $120 line. Commission steps from 6% to 9% at a $120 sale price, but the processing percentage is the same at $50, $120 or $500. Processing answers "where are you and how are you paid," not "how big was the sale."
International: 4.99%–5.49%, plus the non-Stripe default
International transactions carry a higher percentage. A seller onboarded with Stripe pays 4.99% + $0.49; a seller in a Stripe country who is not onboarded pays 5.49% + $0.99 — the top of the ladder. On a $100 transaction those compute to $5.48 and $6.48 respectively, against $3.98 for the US domestic onboarded row.
The fifth row is the default: a seller not in a Stripe-eligible country pays 4.99% + $0.49 regardless. Grailed's help article frames this as the standing rate for those sellers, so where you are paid out can matter more than onboarding does. Which countries are Stripe-eligible is Stripe's list, not Grailed's fee schedule — confirm against the live article before pricing cross-border sales.
A worked $100 sale: $3.98 processing, $6.00 commission
Assumptions: $100 listing price, Grailed Label, US domestic seller onboarded with Stripe, sales tax $0 — so the total transaction, and both fee bases, read $100.00. Rounding is half-up to the cent; live rounding may differ by a cent.
| Ledger line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Total transaction (processing base) | $100.00 |
| Payment processing, 3.49% + $0.49 | −$3.98 |
| Commission, 6% under-$120 tier — a separate line | −$6.00 |
| Total fees (two lines, never one %) | $9.98 |
| You keep, before the Grailed Label cost | $90.02 |
The processing arithmetic: 3.49% × $100.00 = $3.49, plus the $0.49 fixed fee = $3.98. The commission, shown only for context: 6% × $100.00 = $6.00 in the under-$120 tier, where the $1.99 minimum is not binding. Together they take $9.98 — but Grailed does not charge a single "9.98% + $0.49" fee, and quoting one misreads the bill: the two lines trigger on different things and move independently. Work them as two lines, always.
Processing vs commission: don't confuse them
Commission is the other seller fee: 6% with a $1.99 minimum when the sale price is under $120, or 9% at $120 or more, for sales on or after 2026-05-20 — and a Grailed Label changes what the commission is charged on. That schedule is covered in full in Grailed seller fees: the full stack and, for the lower tier specifically, Grailed fees under $120.
- What sets the rate: processing keys on domestic vs international and Stripe onboarding; commission keys on the sale price and the $120 tier.
- The base: processing is charged on the total transaction, shipping and tax included when applicable; the commission base depends on the label.
- The shape: processing is a percentage plus a fixed fee with no minimum; commission is a pure percentage with a $1.99 minimum in the lower tier.
If the deduction on your payout reads more than 6% or 9%, processing is why — the line this page is about. For how the same item prices out on another platform, see Grailed vs eBay fees.

Grailed payment processing fee: FAQ
Does Grailed charge a payment processing fee?
Yes. On top of its commission, Grailed charges sellers a payment processing fee on the sale: 3.49% + $0.49 for a US domestic seller onboarded with Stripe, rising to 5.49% + $0.99 for an international seller in a Stripe country who is not onboarded. The fee is charged on the total transaction, including shipping and tax if applicable. On a $100 Grailed Label sale with no tax, a US seller onboarded with Stripe pays $3.98 processing, separate from the $6.00 commission.
Who pays the processing fee on Grailed?
The seller. Grailed's help article presents payment processing as a seller charge, listed separately from the commission, and it applies whether the sale is domestic or international. The base is the total transaction — the amount the buyer pays, including shipping and tax if applicable — not the listing price alone. Buyers do not pay a separate processing line per Grailed's fees page.
What is Grailed's US domestic processing rate?
3.49% + $0.49 if you are onboarded with Stripe, or 3.49% + $0.99 if you are not. The percentage is identical in both rows; only the fixed portion moves, by $0.50. On a $100 transaction those two rows compute to $3.98 and $4.48 respectively. The rate does not step at a $120 sale price — that line belongs to the commission, not to processing.
Is processing the same as Grailed's commission?
No. They are two separate fee lines with different rates, different bases and different triggers. Commission is 6% with a $1.99 minimum under a $120 sale price, or 9% at $120 or more, for sales on or after 2026-05-20, and a Grailed Label changes what the commission is charged on. Processing is a percentage plus a fixed fee set by your location and Stripe onboarding, charged on the whole transaction including shipping and tax. Never merge them into one percentage: a $100 Label sale is $6.00 commission plus $3.98 processing, two lines, not a single fee.
