OfferUp Promote Plus Cost: Monthly vs Annual and What You Get
OfferUp Promote Plus (also written Promote+) costs $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial for first-time subscribers. It promotes one listing at a time — you choose which, and you can switch it. This page is the deep dive on that subscription; for OfferUp's selling fees overall, see the parent guide to OfferUp seller fees.

Short answer: $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and it is optional
Promote Plus is an optional advertising subscription for OfferUp sellers, priced at $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year and billed through the App Store or Google Play. First-time subscribers get a 3-day free trial, limited to one per app-store account. The subscription promotes one listing at a time, and you can switch which listing is promoted. It is not a commission: OfferUp charges nothing on local in-person sales, so the subscription price is the only number on this page that comes from OfferUp.
Annual is the headline deal: OfferUp's help page says the yearly plan saves about 58% versus paying monthly, and the published math backs that up (derived below).
Promote Plus pricing at a glance (US, as of Oct 2026)
| Cost | Amount | Charged how | Who pays | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Promote Plus, monthly | $19.99 per month | Flat subscription billed through the App Store or Google Play | Seller, optional | Promote Plus subscription (updated 2025-09-11) |
| Promote Plus, annual | $99.99 per year (effective ≈$8.33 per month, derived: $99.99 ÷ 12); OfferUp says about 58% off paying monthly | Flat subscription billed through the App Store or Google Play | Seller, optional | Promote Plus subscription (updated 2025-09-11) |
| Promote Plus, first-time trial | $0 for 3 days; one trial per app-store account | Available to first-time Promote Plus subscribers only | Seller, optional | Promote Plus subscription (updated 2025-09-11) |
| What the subscription promotes | One listing at a time; you can switch which one | Included with either plan | — | Promote Plus subscription (updated 2025-09-11) |

Prices are US, in USD, for individual sellers. One-time Promote dollar prices are not published on OfferUp's help center, so none are quoted anywhere on this page; per OfferUp, the app shows the price before you are charged.
Monthly vs annual: the actual math (derived)
OfferUp's help page markets the annual plan as saving about 58% versus paying month to month. Here is the arithmetic behind that claim. Every figure in this table is Feebrief's own calculation — derived from the two published prices, not a number OfferUp states.
| Figure | Value (derivation) |
|---|---|
| Twelve months on the monthly plan | $239.88 per year (derived: $19.99 × 12) |
| Twelve months on the annual plan | $99.99 per year (published price) |
| Annual-plan savings vs monthly | $139.89 per year (derived: $239.88 − $99.99) |
| Savings as a percentage | ≈58.3% off (derived: $139.89 ÷ $239.88) — consistent with OfferUp's about-58% claim |
| Effective monthly cost on annual | ≈$8.33 per month (derived: $99.99 ÷ 12) |
| Break-even vs monthly | ≈5 months (derived: $99.99 ÷ $19.99; five monthly payments total $99.95, so month six onward is pure savings on annual) |
Read plainly: pay monthly for about five months and you have already spent the annual price. Anyone expecting to keep the subscription for half a year or more is paying roughly double by choosing monthly.
The 3-day free trial, and its limits
OfferUp offers a 3-day free trial to first-time Promote Plus subscribers, limited to one trial per app-store account. Because the subscription bills through the App Store or Google Play, the trial and its settings live in your Apple or Google subscription management, not in a Feebrief tool — this page has no calculator, and none is needed for a flat price.
OfferUp's help does not spell out every post-trial billing step, and this page will not guess at behavior the help center does not state. Read the terms shown at signup, in the app, before you start a trial.
What Promote Plus actually promotes: one item, switchable
The subscription promotes a single listing at a time. You pick which listing, and you can switch the promotion to a different listing — so across a month, the benefit can move from item to item as your priorities change. What you cannot do is promote two listings simultaneously on one subscription.
Feebrief does not republish visibility mechanics or performance claims it cannot verify: OfferUp publishes no sales-lift, ROI or conversion data for promoted listings, so this page makes none. What is verifiable is the scope — one promoted item at a time, switchable — and the price.
Promote Plus vs one-time Promote
| Feature | Promote Plus (subscription) | One-time Promote |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | Yes: $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year | No: shown in the app at purchase |
| Coverage | One listing at a time, switchable | A single promotion on a single listing |
| Duration | Continuous while subscribed | 1 day or 3 days, per the help page |
| Free trial | 3 days for first-time subscribers (one per app-store account) | None stated |
| Billing | App Store or Google Play | In-app purchase; price shown before you are charged |
Because one-time Promote prices are not published on the help center, this page cannot tell you which option is cheaper per day of promotion. Compare the price the app shows you at purchase against the subscription math above before deciding.
Is Promote Plus a selling fee? No
Promote Plus is optional advertising with a flat price. It is not a commission, not a percentage of a sale, and not deducted from anything a buyer pays you. OfferUp's help center states it does not charge fees or take a commission on in-person transactions, so a $50 local sale still leaves you with $50.00 whether or not you subscribe.
Context from the parent guide: OfferUp's nationwide shipping program is retired — new listings became local-only from 2025-09-23 and shipping was removed from remaining listings by 2025-10-21 — so there is no shipped-checkout fee today, and Feebrief does not republish the old retired percentages. Full details, including free listing allotments and paid listings, are in OfferUp seller fees.
Should you subscribe? A framework, not a verdict
Feebrief publishes no ROI estimate for Promote Plus because none can be verified. Instead, five questions that actually decide it:
- How long will you keep it? Past roughly five months, annual wins outright (derived: $99.99 ÷ $19.99 ≈ 5).
- Do you have one listing that matters most? The subscription only ever promotes one item at a time.
- Do you sell often enough to use the switching? The single slot is most valuable to sellers who can move it from listing to listing.
- Have you used your one-time trial? First-time subscribers get 3 days free, once per app-store account.
- Would one-time Promote do the job? For a single quick sale, check the in-app 1-day or 3-day price before committing to $19.99 or $99.99.
And note: there is no Feebrief calculator for OfferUp, by design. With a $0 local commission and flat optional prices, there is no percentage to compute (fees.json, 2026-10-26).
OfferUp Promote Plus FAQ
How much is OfferUp Promote Plus?
Promote Plus costs $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year, billed through the App Store or Google Play, and first-time subscribers get a 3-day free trial (one trial per app-store account). On the annual plan the effective cost is about $8.33 per month (derived: $99.99 ÷ 12), and OfferUp's help page says the yearly price saves about 58% versus paying monthly. Feebrief's own check: 12 × $19.99 = $239.88, versus $99.99, a saving of $139.89, or about 58.3% (derived). Confirm the live price on the Promote Plus subscription help page or in the app.
Is Promote Plus worth it?
There is no honest universal answer, because OfferUp publishes no verified sales-lift, ROI or conversion data for promoted listings, and Feebrief will not invent numbers. A decision framework: the subscription promotes one listing at a time, so the monthly or annual price is really the price of extra visibility for a single listing you can switch. If you expect to keep the subscription for roughly five months or more, annual costs less (derived: 5 × $19.99 = $99.95, about equal to the $99.99 yearly price; every month after that is savings). For a one-off listing, compare the in-app one-time Promote price before subscribing.
Does Promote Plus take a cut of my sale?
No. Promote Plus is an optional advertising subscription with a flat price, not a commission and not a percentage of anything you sell. OfferUp's help center states that it does not charge fees or take a commission on in-person transactions, so the subscription price is the only Promote Plus cost, and nothing is deducted from the money a buyer pays you. For the full picture, including the retired nationwide shipping program, see Feebrief's parent guide to OfferUp seller fees.
How much does one-time Promote cost?
Not publicly available. OfferUp's help center confirms one-time promotions of 1 day and 3 days exist in the app, but the dollar prices are shown only at purchase time in the app and are not published on the help pages, so this page quotes no figures. Per OfferUp, the app shows the price before you are charged. If you want ongoing promotion with a published price, Promote Plus at $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year is the alternative OfferUp documents.
Can I promote more than one item?
With Promote Plus, one item at a time. OfferUp's help page says the subscription promotes a single listing and that you can switch which listing is promoted, so over a billing period the benefit can move from item to item, but never to two items simultaneously. To lift several listings at once you would buy separate one-time promotions for each, whose prices are shown in the app only. Confirm current behavior on the Promote Plus help page.
