Etsy payout time: when your money actually reaches your bank
There is no single "Etsy payout time" — there are three separate clocks: when a sale's funds become available, when Etsy sends them on your deposit schedule, and when your bank posts them. This guide separates the three so you can tell which clock your money is waiting on. United States, USD.
Etsy payout timing checked against Etsy Help on deposits and payment accounts, and the Etsy Payments policy. Applies to US sellers paid through Etsy Payments. United States, USD.
Feebrief is not affiliated with Etsy. Feebrief has no live calculator for this platform — Etsy payout timing depends on shop-specific factors (shop age, schedule setting, bank) that no calculator can compute — so this page lays out the timing rules instead.
Short answer: three clocks, not one number
- Availability: new sellers are generally eligible for a deposit 14 days after a sale (it may take longer); established shops may see funds available as soon as the next business day, as of 2026-11-01.
- Schedule: Etsy sends available funds daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly — the new-seller default is weekly, every Monday.
- Bank: after Etsy sends, your bank may take up to 1–5 business days to post the deposit.
Add those up and a brand-new seller's first deposit can land roughly 14 days after the sale plus up to 5 business days for the bank. That total is Feebrief's arithmetic on Etsy's two published ranges — it is not a number Etsy states anywhere.
The three clocks: availability, schedule, bank arrival
Most "how long does Etsy take to pay you" answers collapse three different timers into one number, which is why two sellers can both be "right" and report different waits. The clocks run in sequence:
- Availability. A sale posts to your payment account immediately, but the money is not sendable until it becomes Available. This is the clock that differs most between new and established shops.
- Deposit schedule. Etsy sends Available funds on the schedule you set — daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly. Nothing is sent between scheduled deposits.
- Bank arrival. Once Etsy sends, the deposit may take up to 1–5 business days to appear in your bank account.
When your money seems "stuck," identifying which clock it is waiting on tells you whether anything can be changed at all.
Current vs Pending vs Available
Per Etsy's guidance on managing your payment account (Etsy Help 115015747228, as of 2026-11-01), a sale shows in your payment account as soon as it happens, but those funds sit as Pending before they become Available. Only Available funds can be included in a deposit. That is why a sale can be visible in your account while the money is not yet on its way: the availability clock, not the schedule or the bank, is what is running.
New shops vs established shops
As of 2026-11-01, new sellers are generally eligible for a deposit 14 days after a sale, and it may take longer. For established shops, funds may be available as soon as the next business day. Etsy does not publish fixed graduation criteria for when a shop moves from one treatment to the other — treat any site quoting exact thresholds or account ages as inventing them.
Deposit schedule options (US, as of Nov 2026)
| Schedule | What it means | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | Available funds sent every day | USD 25.00 daily minimum |
| Weekly | Available funds sent once a week | Default for new sellers; every Monday |
| Biweekly | Available funds sent every two weeks | Optional setting |
| Monthly | Available funds sent once a month | Optional setting |
Schedule options per Etsy Help on receiving your deposit, as of 2026-11-01. You can change your deposit schedule in your payment account settings; changing it changes when Etsy sends, not how fast funds become Available. United States, USD.
Bank arrival: standard and instant
After Etsy sends a deposit, your bank may take up to 1–5 business days to post it (Etsy Help 360046998234, as of 2026-11-01). This leg is outside Etsy's control once the deposit is sent.
Select US shops may see an instant transfer option (a beta feature): funds typically arrive within 30 minutes, for a 1% fee (minimum 25¢, maximum $1), with a $500 daily maximum and a $25 minimum per transfer. Because it is a beta, availability varies by shop and is not guaranteed.
Holds, reserves and policy delays
- Bank change: changing your bank details triggers a 5-day hold before deposits resume (Etsy Help 360046998234, as of 2026-11-01).
- Policy delay: under the Etsy Payments policy (as of 2026-11-01), deposit delays may be between 0 and 180 days.
- Reserve percentage: not publicly available. Etsy does not publish it, so any site quoting a fixed reserve percentage is inventing the number. Saying so plainly is more useful to you than a fabricated figure.
Fees come out before the deposit
One line of context, then link out: the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee (item + shipping + gift wrap) and the 3% + $0.25 processing fee (gross order, including shipping and tax) are all netted from your payout before Etsy sends it — full detail in Etsy seller fees and Etsy payment processing fee.

Etsy payout time FAQ
Why is my Etsy money still pending?
A sale shows in your payment account right away, but the money is not sendable until it moves from Pending to Available. For new sellers, funds are generally eligible for deposit 14 days after a sale (it may take longer); established shops may see funds available as soon as the next business day. Etsy only sends Available funds, on your deposit schedule. As of 2026-11-01.
How long until my first Etsy deposit arrives?
Stack the three clocks: funds for new sellers generally become available 14 days after a sale (may take longer), Etsy sends on your schedule (new-seller default weekly, every Monday), and your bank may take up to 1–5 business days after Etsy sends. A rough worst case is about 14 days plus up to 5 business days — that sum is Feebrief arithmetic on Etsy's published figures, not a number Etsy states.
Can I get my Etsy deposit faster?
Two levers exist, and neither speeds up availability. Switching your deposit schedule to daily (USD 25.00 daily minimum) makes Etsy send sooner once funds are available. Select US shops in the instant transfer beta can typically receive funds within 30 minutes for a 1% fee (minimum 25¢, maximum $1), with a $500 daily maximum and a $25 minimum.
What happens after I change my bank account on Etsy?
Changing your bank details triggers a 5-day hold before deposits resume to the new account, per Etsy's deposit guidance as of 2026-11-01.
Does Etsy publish its reserve percentage?
No. The reserve percentage is not publicly available; any site quoting a fixed number is inventing it. What is published: the Etsy Payments policy allows deposit delays that may be between 0 and 180 days.
