Poshmark payout timing: release, Instant Transfer, and direct deposit

Poshmark doesn't move your money to the bank the moment a sale closes. Earnings first unlock into your redeemable balance — immediately if the buyer accepts the order, otherwise automatically once three days pass after delivery with no return case opened, under Posh Protect. From there you pick a withdrawal rail: Instant Transfer typically lands within 30 minutes for a $2 fee, or direct deposit typically takes 2–3 business days. This guide walks each stage with its published source and check date.

Every timing fact on this page was re-checked on against three Poshmark sources: the Posh Protect policy page, the “How to get paid” seller guide, and the Instant Transfer help article. Written for US sellers earning in US dollars. United States, USD. Last updated .

No timing widget lives on this page — payout timing is published policy, not something a tool estimates. Feebrief isn't affiliated with Poshmark, and the broader fee picture sits in our Poshmark overview.

When earnings reach your redeemable balance

Two events can unlock a sale, and either one is enough. The fast one is acceptance: when the buyer accepts the order, payment is released to the seller, and after accepting the buyer can no longer open a return case. The backstop one is silence: the buyer has 72 hours after delivery (per tracking) to open a return case, and if no case is opened within 3 days of delivery, payment is automatically released to the seller.

That 3-day wait isn't an arbitrary processing delay — it's Posh Protect working as designed. The release schedule sits downstream of the buyer's protection window: your money waits while the buyer's chance to dispute stays open, then moves when that chance closes. If the buyer does open a case in time, the standard release stops and the order goes into Poshmark's resolution process; timing then depends on how the case is decided.

Released money doesn't head to your bank on its own. It sits in the app — Account → My Balance → Redeemable — until you take action. Nothing leaves Poshmark until you redeem it.

Getting money out: Instant Transfer vs direct deposit

Once a balance is redeemable, the rail you choose sets the remaining wait. Poshmark's “How to get paid” guide lays out the options; here they are side by side, with the hedges kept as written.

Instant Transfer is the speed play: typically within 30 minutes, with the help article's Hyperwallet footnote hedging that as usually within minutes and possibly up to 30, with actual times varying by bank. The $2 fee is deducted per transfer, and there's a daily ceiling of up to $1,000 — a fatter redeemable balance means multiple days of Instant Transfers or one direct deposit instead.

Direct deposit is the default patience play: typically within 2–3 business days after you redeem, where business days skip weekends and US bank holidays. The PayPal/Venmo route splits the trip in half, and only the second half (app → bank, 1–3 business days) carries a published estimate on the guide.

One line on fees, since this page is about timing: Poshmark's commission is a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% of the item price at $15 and up — the worked math lives in our Poshmark fees explained guide.

Putting release and cash-out together

Say tracking shows your package delivered on a Thursday and the buyer stays quiet. The 72-hour return window runs out Sunday with no case opened, so your payment is automatically released. You redeem Monday morning, and the rail decides the rest: Instant Transfer typically has it on your debit card within about half an hour, minus the $2 fee; direct deposit initiated Monday typically posts Wednesday or Thursday.

Two wrinkles are worth seeing in advance. If the buyer had accepted at delivery on Thursday, the cash-out choice would have been yours the same day — acceptance is the shortcut through the whole 3-day stretch. And because the 72-hour window runs straight through weekends, a Friday or Saturday delivery can push auto-release into Monday or Tuesday without anything being late; the weekend reappears on the deposit leg, where business days are what count.

Poshmark publishes each of these windows separately and doesn't state one combined delivery-to-bank total. The Thursday sketch above is our own illustration of those published windows stacked together — handy for planning, but treat it as a sketch, not a guaranteed end-to-end figure.

Check by mail: no published day count

Plenty of sites will tell you how long a Poshmark check takes to arrive. Poshmark, on the page we fetched, doesn't: the “How to get paid” guide lists a check option without stating a USPS mailing estimate. As of the check date above, the arrival day count is not publicly available there, and we'd rather say that plainly than borrow a number from somewhere else. If arrival time actually matters to you, both Instant Transfer and direct deposit come with published timing.

Poshmark payout timing: questions and answers

Does Poshmark release payment after 3 days automatically?

Yes, if the buyer stays silent. Under Posh Protect, the buyer has 72 hours after delivery to open a return case; if no case is opened within 3 days of delivery, payment is automatically released to the seller. And if the buyer accepts the order, payment is released right away — acceptance also closes the return window, so you don't wait the full 3 days.

How fast is Poshmark Instant Transfer, and what does it cost?

Instant Transfer typically arrives within 30 minutes and carries a $2 fee per transfer. Poshmark's help article hedges it as usually within minutes, may take up to 30 minutes, with actual times varying by bank. Transfers are capped at up to $1,000 per day, so larger balances need direct deposit or multiple days.

When does the 3-day Poshmark release window start?

At delivery, not at sale or shipment. The window Posh Protect describes is 72 hours after delivery (per tracking) for the buyer to open a return case; if none is opened within 3 days of delivery, your payment is automatically released. The window runs continuously across weekends — the only leg measured in business days is direct deposit, typically 2–3 of them once you redeem.

How long does a Poshmark check take to arrive in the mail?

There is no published day count. Poshmark's “How to get paid” guide lists a check option but does not state how many days USPS delivery takes, and as of November 1, 2026 that number is not publicly available on the pages we checked. We won't invent a range; if arrival time matters to you, Instant Transfer and direct deposit both come with published estimates.
